This barrel has a medium toast head, #3 char, and has only cross-cut grooved staves for a faster extraction and accelerated maturation.  It is a cost effective solution for accelerated aging since more surface area is exposed and a significant amount of end grain is available to wood sourced sugar extraction. * TTB approved.
